Pinecone Centerpiece

Pinecone Centerpiece Concept

I have been wanting to do this project ever since seeing a similar decoration on a cooking show in December 2018.  It consists of  three Dave Lowe style cardboard paper towel tube candles, various pinecones, and three Christmas tree ornaments. This centerpiece could be a wonderful addition to your holiday decor.

Now to get the pinecones,  You can either purchase some pinecones or pick them up from under conifer bearing trees like I did.

This may be a fir tree, message me if it is

Ponderosa Pine.

Now to make the candles I followed the instructions from the Dave Lowe Blog.  First I glued the cardboard tubes together to achieve different sizes.  Then I cut the tops to resemble a dripping candle.

Different sizes.

Drawing the candle top

You can arrange the candles and pinecones any way you want. I arranged them according to height.

Selecting a setup

You can set the pinecones and candles on a cardboard circle or use a pie tin to trace it on crafting foam.

making adjustments.

When you are satisfied with your arrangement, you can add any three Christmas tree ornaments you want.  Additionally you can wrap tinsel or a wreath or garlands around the decoration.

Finished with garland.

Now here is a video of the finished centerpiece.
